this weekend, a very nice boy asked me to get coffee with him. i turned him down. what? WHAT?
anyway. been working away on my projects. i managed to hammer out a painting, some observational sketches, rough story boards, re-watched 50/50, Captain America, and a Series of Unfortunate events, [all of which are amazing films, and all of which managed to make me cry. what?] and a 4-page rant on why zooey deschanel drives me bonkers. swell!
here's my "observational sketches," which actually means i just went to a coffee shop and caricatured everybody there.

yep. tonight i get to go back to stop-motion I and get critiqued on my first solo project... ugh, fingers crossed. my stomach is flip-flopping. i really want to impress my professor.

class was just so bizarre today, yo.
sexist kid informed me that girls don't read comic books, i slept in wa-a-ay past my alarm, the ending of my script was completely re-written.
there's this really really cool girl in my graphic novel class who's just... AUGH, she's SO COOL. all of the fine arts majors are SO COOL. it's ridiculous. i am so intimidated by them and their thick-framed glasses and comfy cardigans and slinky dresses and facial hair and scuffed up christian louboutins. i feel like a creepy little troll when i'm around them. it's like in discworld: i'm a werewolf, and vampires make me feel disheveled.
and he-e-ere is the concept sketch for my 30-second lip-sync project. i call it "swamp-monster in love." it's comedy gold.
anyway... uhm. rockin' and rolling. my classes are awesome so far! [i really hope i didn't just jinx myself.]

just spent three hours in the stop-motion lab today, but i would still be there if i was allowed.
it's not perfect, but i'm pleased as punch with the way that the animation itself came out.

also, i finally finished kayla's tattoo design-she took it in to the shop yesterday, and she's planning to get inked in the next week or so. cannot wait to see how it turns out!

i feel like i'm nearing the edge of a cliff or the top of a rollercoaster and i'm about to plunge headfirst into a pit of work from which there is no escape. i'm okay with that. this weekend was phenomenal, (sibling was here all weekend and i went to a party and still managed to get my work done,) and i wouldn't mind getting some real work done, you know? deadlines for internship applications are looming off in the distance. oogh. my resume is STILL not completely put together.

i made a portrait of my friend natalie. supposedly she is making one of me as well.
hers came out a bit scary, but... well... i blame the scanner.
i'm hoping that she will actually show me hers.

i love it. this is almost the best time of the year.
anyway, now that i have my beloved scanner back, i guess it's time to start dumping some of the various doodles i did over break.
i love french films. they make me feel so wonderfully pretentious. well, you know what? i think i'm actually addicted to subtitles in general. uhm, i'm refrencing the fact that my first drawing was a sketch of the film "la fille sur le pont." it's wonderful. i love that director.
also, i love sherlock holmes.
and also "sherlock." and the last episode is on sunda-a-ay!
anyway. i'm gonna go off and do other things now, i guess.
